**The Opportunity - Communications Instructor (contract) - Edmonton**

Olds College has an opportunity for a Contract Communication Instructor to teach two sections of COM 1020, Workplace Communications for the 2023-24 academic year. Courses will be taught to international students in the evening at Concordia University of Edmonton.

Communications courses at Olds College are designed to develop students' written and oral communication skills. An undergraduate degree in the field of communications and/or English is required with a preference given to those with a Master's degree. Demonstrated ability to engage learners by relating the field of communications to the industry in the learners' program of study is essential. Recent experience in teaching in the area of writing proficiency and communications is desired.

We are seeking a dynamic individual that will effectively connect with international students and who possesses excellent organizational abilities, communication, and interpersonal skills. You will be comfortable with technology and the use of relevant software and learning management systems.

Responsibilities will include the following:

- Working collaboratively as part of an instructional team;
- Preparation and delivery of classes;
- Assessment and reporting of learner achievement;
- Facilitation of positive, productive student learning experiences;
- Use of appropriate instructional technology.
