Banquet Captain

The Clarion Hotel & Conference Centre is the largest conference center outside of metro Vancouver with 24,000 square feet of meeting, event and tradeshow space. We feature 116 guest rooms, including Executive Business Class Rooms & Suites.

**Responsibilities**:

- Set-up, Service of food and beverage, and tear down of various functions.
- Accurately read BEO’s, changes and may be asked to attend BEO meetings.
- Conducting briefings before functions to Banquet staff.
- Assign staff to service and/or setup, by accurately reading BEO’s and changes.
- Be able to work service and bar.
- Able to create a weekly schedule in the absence of Banquet Manager.
- Lead all Banquet Staff in the absence on Banquet Manger.
- Cashing out and closing the events.
- Run buffets and pick up food from culinary team.
- Always maintain professionalism with coworkers
- Exceptional customer service as a main contact to the group.

**Requirements**:

- Serving it Right Certification, or be willing to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
- Open availability - Mornings, Evenings, Weekends and Holidays
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position (Lifting tables, standing for long periods)
- **Reliable transportation is REQUIRED (Late night shifts end at 3 am and hitch hiking is not an option. We care and worry for our employees)**

- Excellent Customer Service (Social Butterflies needed :))
- Self-Motivated and able to work independently
- Able to lift 25lb
- Can do attitude

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour

- Bartending: 1 year (preferred)
