**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Aquatics Program Coordinator, the Instructor/Guard is a dynamic individual who possesses enthusiasm and experience to ensure the ongoing safety of our patrons, and to provide professional instruction in a variety of aquatic activities at Harbour Pool.

**Responsibilities**:

- Include but not limited to:
- Maintain minimum qualifications (Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, Standard First Aid / AEC, and National Lifeguard)
- Lifeguard, instruct and perform water maintenance tasks as required.
- Prevent injuries by providing public education, enforcing safety rules and regulations, and responding appropriately in the event of an emergency.
- Ensure that aquatics center is clean and safe by completing required maintenance tasks.
- Ability to organize, set priorities and complete multiple tasks, while being adaptable to last minute changes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to team and patrons.
- Attend mandatory training sessions throughout the year.
- Assist with various other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.

Hours of Work: 30 hours/week minimum with the possibility of extra hours depending on seasonal operational need. (Scheduled shifts will vary)
