Eagle Ridge Veterinary Hospital in Sechelt, BC, is looking to add a full time Veterinary Assistant to our growing fabulous team Veterinary Assistants have a broad range of duties, all of which are critical to aid in the flow of our hospital, and we are seeking a like minded positive team member to join us. Experience in the Veterinary Field is highly recommended but not required. We are looking for a part-time OR full-time Veterinary Assistant who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can multitask, and has a drive for excellent customer service and patient care. We are a "Fear Free" certified, close-knit team that values our patients and clients first, but we also value a fair and fun work environment.

Some key duties include:

- Prepare and set up for a multitude of appointments and procedures
- General cleaning of public and employee areas of the hospital to maintain a clean and appealing environment
- Housekeeping, laundry and restocking duties for all areas of the hospital
- Sterile techniques/cleaning of surgical suite, tools and equipment
- Care for hospitalized and/or boarding animals including cage cleaning, patient clean up, bathroom walks, feeding and observing clinical behaviour
- Handle and restrain patients safely and efficiently for procedures performed by the veterinarian or RVT
- Comfortability to work with but not limited to dogs, cats, and wildlife
- Answer and triage phone calls from clients
- Schedule appointments and procedures by following proper booking protocols
- Process payment transactions and handle cash
- Identify and work with compassion to clients in various emotional states

Minimum Requirements:

- Able to work under pressure in fast paced environment
- Able to work individually without supervision or as a team
- Able to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor and attitude
- Able to lift up to 45 lb unassisted

Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
