The Reinsurance Analyst will assist in the processing and management of the Non Proportional book of business as well as the administration of the cash for non-proportional, proportional and claims departments for assigned broker groups. This includes liaising directly with brokers, underwriters and staff at all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Operational Verification review (confirmation of pertinent financial information over designated threshold)
- Confirmation and processing of Final Premium Adjustments
- Cashbook management, cash allocation and payments processing
- Receivables management and investigation of anomalous items, follow up on overdue items
- Management of designated broker groups and running of premium installments
- Working closely with the underwriting, claims and finance departments
- Assist with month end close, financial statements, compliance and audit working papers
- Provide periodic and detailed reporting to management as requested
- Other duties as required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least two years prior experience in the insurance or reinsurance industries preferred
- A GCSE or equivalent and relevant experience may be qualifying; Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- Evidence of progression towards accounting or industry certification, (ARe, CPCU) preferred
- Knowledge of structure of underwriting files and previous exposure to reinsurance contracts, treaties and reinsurance markets preferred
- Experience in SICS would be an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven problem solving ability, demonstrated efficient use of other resources and ability to self-manage and not required constant supervision or feedback to complete tasks
- Proven organizational and timekeeping skills and a strong sense of attention to detail are essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills i.e. a thorough command of the English language; including excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- The ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients and colleagues, and to exercise discretion and confidentiality in all matters.
- Must be able to work outside of normal office hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays if necessary
