Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

This role will report to the Director, DevOps Systems Engineering, Innovation, Digital, Expertise and Architecture (IDEA) within the Global Functions Technology (GFT) organization in Technology & Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with IDEA technical team and the Enterprise IT Ops Risk team for all major systems and related subsystems under IDEA portfolio to ensure the integrity of computer generated data. With your relevant experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices you should be able to perform a variety of assignments under risk and compliance requirements.

**What will you do?**
- Work to improve system resilience, including both failover and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Ensure apps are up-to-date with RBC's tech currency roadmap and work with necessary stakeholders to meet tech currency goals.
- Work with technical team to improve system resilience, including both failover and disaster recovery capabilities.

**Must have**:

- Good understanding and 2+ years’ experience of common technologies and platforms used in the industry - Windows, Linux, SQL server, Oracle etc.
- Good understanding of common Web technologies: Apache, Apache Tomcat, IIS, NGINX, Kerberos
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies and concepts: Azure, OpenShift etc
- Good problem solving, and communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

**Nice to have**:

- Experience OR understanding of security patch compliance, working with infrastructure teams for server patches deployment
- Understanding of monitoring and alerting systems
- Problem-solving and execution skills
