We are looking for a** Battery Technican** to join our Quality team The role involves working closely with our technology to better understand why cells perform the way they do This involves cells from customer returns and investigating our own internal quality questions. This opportunity will allow the successful applicant to broaden your battery knowledge and advance your career in the Quality field. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Measure cell return data by taking voltage, AC impedance and/or mass and performing visual inspections.
- Perform failure analysis using methods of CT, SEM/EDX, cell performance testing, and disassembly of cells to diagnose product issues.
- Perform tests to assess and verify the product failures reported by customers.
- Work with cell testing systems (Maccor and S-charger) to determine performance/safety-related properties of lithium-ion rechargeable cells.
- Identify cells for disassembly and analysis from the failed cells from production or model plant.
- Perform data collection and entry into various R&D database systems.
- Perform data analysis and prepare graphs for management review.
- Prepare failure analysis reports for management review.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Technical Diploma or Degree in a related field or relevant technical experience in the lithium-ion battery industry.
- Good understanding of battery technology.
- Knowledge of cell characterization, testing and production processes, reliability testing, electrical and mechanical test of cells and packs, data interpretation and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with failure analysis techniques would be considered an asset.
