**_ What will you be doing?_**

**Job overview**

As Cafeteria attendant, assist with preparation, transport, and service of food and beverage items in the employee cafeteria ensuring a high level of quality and consistency. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the cafeteria and food prep areas that meet the provincial and local Health Board inspection and hotel requirements.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Prepare cold & hot food and batch items including sandwiches, salads, cold drinks, and desserts; follow food preparation and usage instructions to minimize waste.
- Transport prepared food from kitchen to cafeteria; set up all stations which may include soup, salad, beverage, bread, hot food buffet, etc. Replenish stations as needed throughout the shift.
- Perform associated opening, closing and prep work duties.
- Ensure adequate supply of trays, plates, utensils, napkins, condiments, and other cafeteria supplies to serve all hotel employees.
- Wipe down chairs and tables; sweep or mop floors; bus tables; empty trash containers; clean cafeteria equipment such as coffee makers, microwaves, and steam tables; and ensure general cleanliness of cafeteria regularly.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and well-organized work area, including but not limited to reach-ins, walk-ins, and counters. Report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment, safety hazards, or maintenance problems to management.
- Greet and serve meals to employees based on established procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned. In carrying out your duties you will follow all Company and Brand Standards

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- Basic reading, writing and math skills, and some prior food preparation experiences are preferred.
- Friendly and hospitality-focused
- Attention to detail.
- This job requires the ability to perform the following:

- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Standing up and moving about the kitchen and cafeteria
- Handling food, objects, products, and utensils
- Bending, stooping, kneeling
