**About the Opportunity**:
The Parks Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill an auxiliary full-time Arborist 1 position for a one-year term. Reporting to the Lead Arborist, the Arborist 1 does planting, pruning, hedge trimming, watering and general arboriculture and horticultural maintenance of a variety of coniferous and deciduous trees. In addition, this position is responsible for general park maintenance.
- International Society of Arboriculture Certification (ISA)
- ISA Certified Tree Risk Assessor
- Current and Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Pesticide Applicator’s License for the Province of British Columbia
- 2-3 years related experience
- Salary:_ $34.89 hourly plus 14% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates)
- Hours per week:_ 40
