Job Summary:
The Manager, Maintenance Quality Assurance is a member of the Technical Operations leadership team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance and Training. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a compliant and effective Quality Assurance Program in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Establish and maintain a Quality Assurance Program encompassing all elements of Air Operator and Approved Maintenance Organization Certificate
- Create and execute an annual Audit Schedule to completion
- Ensures all internal and external audits are carried out in accordance with procedures outlined in Porter’s Maintenance Policy, Control and Audit Manuals
- Communicate all findings and results from the Quality Assurance Program to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance and Training and Person Responsible for Maintenance
- Responsible for the retention of records associated with the Quality Assurance Program
- Follow-up for the effectiveness of preventative and corrective actions taken to address audit findings
- Ensure that recognized standards of work are carried out by all personnel under their supervision
- Guides departmental leaders through the investigation, analysis and implementation of preventative or corrective action taken to address findings resulting from the Quality Assurance Program in the context of organizational risk management strategies
- Monitors trends in Quality Assurance Program results and conducts analysis
- Maintain an adequate workforce schedule
- Participates in Safety Management Group meetings
- Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- University degree and/or acceptable combination of education, training and/or related work experience
- Previous experience of working in the Quality Assurance Program of a commercial airline
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance operations and/or commercial flight operations
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing people
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of auditing principles, procedures and methods
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail
- Impartiality, integrity, tenacity, diplomacy and self-reliance are key attributes
- Ability to secure and maintain airport security clearance
- Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required
