What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. We are seeking a highly motivated team player to join our antibody discovery group as an Immunization Coordinator. Located in metro Vancouver, Canada, our facility in Amgen British Columbia is a center of research excellence primarily dedicated to the discovery of biologics, including fully human therapeutic monoclonal antibodies to help treat grievous diseases.
You will join the Domain Discovery and Immunization (DDI) team and contribute to the organization, initiation and assessment of immunization programs supporting antibody discovery projects. This will leverage the use of a variety of novel antibody generation platforms, including Amgen’s XenoMouse® and UniRat® transgenic animal systems.
In this vital role, you will:
- Lead the transformation of immunization strategies from ideas into reality.
- Coordinate and manage immunization project initiatives, including reagent procurement and transfer of biological specimens and materials to and from different vendors, CROs and other Amgen sites to meet project timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date data entry and ensure accurate in vivo study registrations using internal systems that support the immunization and antibody discovery workflow.
- Work with vendors and the Import/Export team to coordinate and track sample shipments, including shipments across borders.
- Manage immunization-related reagent stock inventory and ensure accurate sample registration and archiving.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with 4 years experience in an industrial or academic laboratory setting
OR
Master’s degree and 2+ years experience in an industrial or academic setting
Exceptional team player with impeccable attention to detail.
Excellent organization and communication skills, along with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to juggle multiple competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with animal colony management and or in vivo work for antibody discovery.
- Experience working with animal systems to generate antibodies.
- Degree in immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline.
- Highly proficient with data management software systems.
- Demonstrated wet-lab experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, immunogen preparation, reagent quality control or serology testing.
