Under the direct supervision of the Team Leaders, the primary responsibilities include collection of blood specimens from adults and children using macro and micro phlebotomy techniques, receipt and sorting specimens, assisting in the orientation, and teaching of new staff, co-workers and external clients, performing ECG’s. Follows current laboratory policies and procedures, including Laboratory safety procedures. You will work a combination of 7.75 and 5 hour shifts, usually resulting in 7 to 8 shifts in a 2-week period.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Equivalency is defined as completion of a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) and/or Combined Laboratory and Xray Technologist (CLXT) program in Canada; completion of a Medical Lab Technician/Technologist program outside of Canada; and/or MLT or CLXT students who have completed their phlebotomy training/rotation. Recent phlebotomy experience and specimen handling. Computer and keyboarding skills.
