**About your next** Challenge** as a **Stress Analyst**:
As part of the Repair and Liaison Engineering Group, you will collaborate with mechanical engineers and designers towards the development of repair solutions and damage/ wear evaluations on CF-18 aircrafts currently in modification and inspection campaign.
You will evolve with colleagues as machinists, technicians, inspectors, method agents and you will also have to validate the structural and functional integrity of the proposed repairs and acceptance dispositions. The engineer will also be called upon to participate in the activities of the structures analysis group on larger-scale projects.

**What will you do**:

- Read and understand manufacturing and modification drawings;
- Investigate faulty or damaged components and assemblies to determine their causes;
- Design repair solutions to restore "fit, form and function" as well as the structural integrity of the damaged structure;
- Interpret and integrate data, loading modes and safety factors according to established specifications and standards (MIL-STD, PS or others), and validate design criteria;
- Initiation to analyses, using conventional calculation methods and / or finite element methods, the materials strength (metallic and composite), including fatigue and damage tolerance;
- Initiation to the principles of airworthiness (classifying or categorizing damage (minor / major);
- Support activities related to the incorporation of repairs and modifications.

**Required Skills and Experiences**:

- Bachelor degree of Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 0 to 2 years of prior experience;
- Knowledge of the following software: MS Office WORD and EXCEL;
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 / V6, NASTRAN / PATRAN or other finite element software, Matlab, represents an asset;
- Ability to read drawings;
- Experience in stress analysis (fatigue and static) and / or specialized courses in stress analysis is an asset;
- Interest in properties and failure of materials;
- Bilingualism essential (French and English);
- Ability to write reports in English;
- Behavioral skills: being a team player, resourceful and ready to work in an environment where technical challenges and short timeframes are constant;
- Strong problem solving skills.

**Eligibility Criteria (mandatory)**:

- Must be eligible for registration with the **Controlled Goods Program**;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada **“Reliability”** status and **Level 2 (Secret)** security clearance;
- For on-site positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
