Fall 2024

**ACTING**
- DRAM 209: Introduction to Acting I _

Course Description: An introduction to creative resources and practices for the actor.
Course Dates: September 3 - December 6, 2024

2 sections available:

- SEM S01 Mon 08:00-10:50, LAB B01 Wed 08:00-09:50
- SEM S02 Mon 13:00-15:50, LAB B02 Wed 13:00-14:50

**Required qualifications**:

- MFA in Drama with a specialization in performance and/or significant experience in professional theatre performance with professional membership in CAEA (Canadian Actors' Equity Association or equivalent), considered an important asset.
- Significant teaching experience and demonstrated ability to deliver acting curriculum at the post-secondary level.
- Experience and knowledge of non-traditional practices of theatre-making preferred; experience working with IBPOC theatre companies and communities considered an asset.
- Practice in performance creation is a preferred asset.
- DRAM 318A/B: Foundations for Physical Practice_

Course Description: Foundations in physical practice and development of the body for stylized-live performance and public engagement.
Course Dates: This runs in both Fall (September 3 - December 6, 2024) and Winter (January 13 - April 11, 2025)
Course Times: Fridays 10:00 - 11:50
**Required qualifications**:

- MFA in Drama or Dance with a specialization in performance and/or experience in professional theatre performance with membership in CAEA (Canadian Actors' Equity Association) or equivalent considered a strong asset.
- Significant training in Suzuki physical performance methodology
- Significant training in other physical performance methodologies including martial arts, mask, dance etc.
- Significant teaching experience and demonstrated ability to deliver physical practice for performance curriculum at the post-secondary level.
- Experience and knowledge of non-traditional practices of theatre-making preferred; experience working with IBPOC theatre companies and communities considered an asset.
- DRAM 418.2A/B: Topics for Physical Practice in Performance (Advanced Physical Practice for performance I) _

Course Description: Topics in the development of physical practice on stage in association to contemporary and classical performance. Exploring physical readiness for live performance.
Course Dates: This runs in both Fall (September 3 - December 6, 2024) and Winter (January 13 - April 11, 2025)
Course Times: Fridays 8:00 - 9:50

**Required qualifications**:

- MFA in Drama or Dance, with a specialization in performance and/or experience in professional theatre performance with membership in CAEA (Canadian Actors' Equity Association) or equivalent considered a strong asset.

- DRAM 509 Advanced Acting III _

Course Description: Advanced research and development of the actor's process with attention to creation of original solo performance and introduction to acting for camera.
Course Dates: September 3 - December 6, 2024
Mondays and Wednesdays 13:00-15:50

**Required qualifications**:

- MFA in Drama with a specialization in performance and/or significant experience in professional theatre performance. For this module professional membership in CAEA (Canadian Actors' Equity Association) is not an essential requirement but will be considered a strong asset.
- Significant teaching experience and demonstrated ability to deliver advanced acting curriculum at the post-secondary level.
- Experience and knowledge of non-traditional practices of theatre-making preferred; experience working with IBPOC theatre companies and communities considered an asset.
- Professional practice and experience in teaching original performance creation specifically solo show is a requirement of this course. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in physical theatre creation methods.
- Professional practice, training and experience in acting for camera.
- Professional practice and experience in self-producing in both film and theatre
