**The Residential Care Worker:
- works under the direction of the Residential Supervisor to provide a comfortable

home environment where individuals with developmental disabilities can live active

and fulfilling lives.
- works as part of a team to ensure that individuals achieve personally meaningful

goals for independence, community access and skill development.
- Assists residents with meal preparation, housekeeping, personal care skills and

personal finance and implements personal service plans.
- Assists clients with daily living activities such as feeding, lifts, transfers, hygiene,

grooming and toileting. This may include transfer of function duties.
- Supports residents to locate and access community resources and provides

opportunities for social connections in accordance with their individual service plans.

**Qualifications:
- Certificate in related human/social service field.
- One (1) year recent related experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Valid Food Safe certificate.
- Proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 required.

**Job Skills and Abilities**:

- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work as part of a team with a variety of staff, professionals, and other

members of the community.
- Commitment and interest in the field of service to individuals living with a

developmental disability with preference given to direct experience working in the

field of Community Living.
- Experience working with people who live with disabilities or mental health

challenges.

**Requirements**:
1. Criminal Record Review in accordance with the Ministry of Justice guidelines

2. Signed Employee Agreement form

3. Immunization record

4. T.B. test clearance

5. Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver and vaccination report

6. Proof of full vaccination against Covid-19

7. Physician’s letter stating that health is sufficient for the job

**Compensation**:As per the BCGEU Collective Agreement, the wage is** $25.05 per hour.
