We have **two immediate openings for the position of part-time News Writer** with opportunities for career growth within our organization.

**The following is a short list of the primary functions and does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities for this position**:

- Research and write news copy for broadcast and digital platforms
- Produce other content as needed for all platforms
- Monitor and post to social media and other news feeds
- Monitor live events to stream to our platforms
- Monitor wires for stories needed on broadcast or digital platforms
- Assist producers, reporters and videographers
- Other duties as required
- Producer, Lineup Editor, Reporter and Web Content Creator skills are an important asset for career growth opportunities
- Possess broadcast and CP-style news writing experience
- Posses a journalism degree or diploma
- Be familiar with ENPS or other such software
- Be familiar with Wordpress
- Be familiar with posting to, and interacting on, social media platforms
- Demonstrate strong spelling and grammar skills
- Be well organized
- Be prepared to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and overnights
- Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Be familiar with the newsmakers and current events of Hamilton, Halton and Niagara

**_Upgrades are available for positions such as Producer, Web Content Creator, and Lineup Editor, so skills and experience in those areas would be an important asset._**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: $16.47-$31.98 per hour
