**Position Details**
- This position is designated as a technical support role, distinct from faculty or graduate teaching assistant positions, with the primary focus on enhancing geospatial knowledge and research capabilities within the department. The GT will report to the i4Geo Director.
- Key Responsibilities:

- 1. Research Support
- Collaborate on research projects involving geospatial data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Utilize geospatial software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, and/or scripting tools such as R and Google Earth Engine to support research activities.
- Support airborne remote sensing operations, including installation of equipment and ground support.
- Conduct fieldwork, as required, to gather and verify geospatial data relevant to ongoing research.
- Operate drones and other field survey equipment for geospatial research data collection
- Maintain and calibrate geospatial hardware and software
- Support the development of metadata records of research-based data collections and assist with the upload of research data to online repositories
- Develop and update manuals for geospatial hardware and software use
- Maintenance and download of meteorological weather stations
- 2. Geospatial Training and Outreach Support
- Support workshops, deliver seminars or short training sessions on relevant geospatial topics.
- Assist in identifying and developing educational materials for geospatial courses.
- Provide hardware and software support for training sessions.
- Assist with the promotion of i4Geo geospatial programs, workshops, and courses, both within the university and wider community.
- Support with the development of graphical and video outreach materials for online dissemination.
- Hiring salary range: $28,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year.

- Qualifications / Proficiencies:

- Preferably a Master’s degree in Geography, Remote Sensing, Environment, or a related field. A Bachelors degree with additional relevant experience may be acceptable.
- Demonstrated experience with geospatial analysis, including trend analysis, Remote Sensing data processing, and GIS-based cartography.
- Experience conducting field work and field data collection with a range of instruments, and across a range of field environments
- Strong organizational skills to manage and track multiple tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with photography, videography and audio data collection and editing is an asset.
