As an essential member of the health care team, the Billing Clerk is responsible for the day to day operation of the
Physicians’ billing process. In some sites this also includes transcription services.

The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry check, and
Adult Abuse Registry check and adhere to all Northern Health Region (NHR) policies and procedures.**
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Completion of post-secondary education in office administration through a business school or college

(combinations of education and experience may be considered)
- Recognized Medical Terminology Program
- Exceptional knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet)
- Previous clinic office experience
- Familiarity with Manitoba Health Physician billing process preferred
- Ability to transcribe for select sites
- Proficient using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
- Accurate word processing at 40 words per minute (typing test will be required)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to speak Cree an asset
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills through clear communication and positive behavior
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and frequent interruptions
- Ability to respect and promote cultural diverse population
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently
