Dispatcher

Seeking responsible, reliable Dispatcher for a small but busy trucking company in north central Alberta, serving the forestry, oilfield, landscape, and agriculture industries. MTL operates Mack trucks, pulling 53' live floor trailers transporting a variety of wood fibres, landscape and grain products throughout Alberta.

**Dispatcher Responsibilities**:

- Schedule drivers, trucks & loads
- Enter, review, & verify daily load tickets into Axon Transportation Management System
- Communicate & coordinate with suppliers, customers and drivers
- Problem solve transportation needs
- monitoring and dispatching within Hours of Service
- Monitoring & scheduling trucks for service
- Load trucks using wheel loader
- Hold & maintain required safety certificates
- Participate, support, promote, and assist in Health & Safety programs, activities and requirements
- coordinate between clients, suppliers and CEO on contracts and pricing

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in Trucking industry - 2+ yrs (required)
- Dispatching experience - 2+ yrs (required)
- Valid Class 1 with trucking experience (preferred)
- knowledge of Alberta and Canadian Federal transportation regulations
- Experience using Axon Trucking Management System or similar program would be an asset

**Skills**:

- Strong phone and professional customer service aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience and knowledge of trucking and oilfield industries
- Knowledge of NSC and HOS regulations
- Proficient using technology and office programs - Word, Excel
- Experience using Wheel loader
- Aptitude of basic maintenance and repairs to support drivers in the field
- Able to remain calm under pressure and work in fast paced environment
- Strong leadership skills
- Team player, strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn

Schedule: M- F with some weekends and on call with phone

Salary negotiable depending on experience and skill.

**Salary**: $5,500.00-$7,000.00 per month
