**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a talented and empathetic individual to join our team as Life Story Interviewer and Ghostwriter. In this project-based position, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth interviews with individuals from diverse backgrounds, capturing their life stories, and then transforming these narratives into compelling books. Your work will help preserve the unique experiences, wisdom, and legacies of the people you interview.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Conduct In-Depth Interviews**: Conduct personal interviews with individuals, including senior citizens, those who have migrated to Canada, and those with extraordinary life experiences, to collect their life stories and personal insights.

**Active Listening**: Show a high level of empathy and active listening skills to create a comfortable and trusting environment for interviewees. Encourage interviewees to share their personal experiences openly.

**Writing and Storytelling**: Transform interview transcripts and research into well-structured and engaging narratives. Craft these stories into a compelling first-draft book that captivates readers while maintaining the interviewee's authentic voice and perspective.

**Editing and Revisions**: Collaborate with the interviewee and the editing team (provided by NextGen) to make necessary revisions and edits to ensure the final book meets the highest standards of quality.

**Maintain Confidentiality**: Handle sensitive and personal information with the utmost confidentiality and respect for the privacy of the interviewees.

**Project Management**: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines, and ensuring the timely completion of interviews and draft text.

**Cultural Sensitivity**: Display cultural sensitivity and respect for the diversity of interviewees and their life experiences.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong interviewing skills with the ability to establish rapport with people from various backgrounds.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities with a portfolio of relevant work.
- High level of empathy and emotional intelligence.
- Project management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Respect for the confidentiality and privacy of interviewees.
- Proficiency in audio recording and transcription software an asset.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field preferred
- Ability to understand another language an asset.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Availability to travel to conduct in-person interviews in the Lower Mainland
- A genuine passion for preserving and sharing life stories.
