If you are friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic about facilitating programs, and inspiring students through dance, this is for you. We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and kind Hip Hop dance teacher to join our team at Collingwood School of Dance starting in September 2024.

Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Position)
- Structure and teach dance classes for students of various ages and skill levels.
- Prepare class plans and music playlists that inspire and educate Dancers to feel confident, grow and achieve success.
- Follow teaching outlines and guidelines set out in the teacher manual and handbook.
- Create a positive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment for students.
- Select, edit and share routine music for recitals, performances and competitions.
- Complete a costume request form, for each recital or competition choreography.
- Prepare choreography for recitals, performances and competitions.
- Maintain appropriate staff/student relationships.
- Attend rehearsals, performances and competitions, as required.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development through Collingwood School of Dance.
- Educate, lead and support your student class assistants.
- Record and report on student attendance.
- Communicate with parents of students as required.
- Ensure the safety of students during dance classes.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be required and that fall within the scope and range of the job.

What we need from you:

- Previous hip hop dance training and experience.
- Previous hip hop dance teaching experience working with children and adults
- Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate technique to students, in an age appropriate manner
- Patience and the ability to create a positive learning environment
- Dedicated to the growth and development of children ages 3 to 17
- Current standard first aid & CPR is considered an asset

Expected start date: 2024-09-14

**Salary**: $18.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 15 per week
