**ESL Camp Director (Summer Contract Position)**

**City Residential Programme**

Canadian International Student Services (CISS) is actively seeking to fill the position of Director for one of its city residential programmes, located at a University of Toronto downtown campus. CISS operates top quality language learning programmes for international students ranging in age from 12 - 16 years. Our city residential programmes are structured so that students study English in the morning and do activities and excursions in the afternoon.

**Job Overview**:
The Director will generally be responsible for all matters in connection with the successful organization and operation of the camp: including the implementation of the programme; budget management; site/supplier relations, and the safety and supervision of all students, staff, and facilities.

**Specific duties include but are not limited to**:
Supervise, train, and mentor staff throughout the summer to ensure best performance of duties and excellent care for the well-being of the students;
Control expense and budgetary factors of the operation and maintain full and accurate records;
Ensure open lines of communication with site staff, programme staff and central operations staff;
Oversee all aspects of the programme to ensure that it is being delivered with the highest quality of service;
Supervise the completion of the programme including the return of the premises and the closing of the financial records.

Our programmes run from the end of June until mid-August. Due to the residential aspect of the programme, accommodation will be provided for the director at the site while the programme is in operation. This position requires preparation in the pre-season. The director will need to co-ordinate the camp prior to the programme start and will have to familiarize him/herself with the site, the excursions, the programme and all the logistics of the endeavour. Training, guidance, and support from the CISS head office is provided.

**Specific Qualifications**:

- Completed a post-secondary degree
- Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a camp setting
- Strong programming and leadership skills
- Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and able to take on responsibility
- Must enjoy working with children and youth
- Excellent customer service skills
- Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required
