Veterinary Technician Practicum Placements

You will be introduced to the inner workings of our hospitals while also gaining exposure and education in some of the following areas:

- Observe and participate where applicable with technical skills: venipuncture, IV placement, catheter, pain management and physical examinations
- Learn how patient files are electronically captured, updated and stored
- Exposure to varying cases requiring different support and skills
- Exposure to prescriptions and tracking of various medications

**Responsibilities**:

- Applicants must be current Canadian students enrolled in a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program
- Must be able to repeatedly lift 40lbs
- Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty
- Compassionate and nurturing attitude providing care to clients and patients
- Work effectively as a team player
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations
- Initiative in carrying out assignments independently
