Assistant Superintendent

**The position is for the construction of a residential complex made up of two buildings on a common underground garage podium located on a site in Ottawa.**

**Responsibilities**

1. Provide assistance to the site superintendent with all construction site activities.

2. Assist the superintendent in the planning and coordination of work.

3. Place orders for site materials.

4. Prepare work deficiency reports.

5. Be aware of all directives, change orders and approvals to be able to monitor the execution of the work.

6. Assist with conformance to the health and safety regulations.

7. Understand overall project planning

8. Assist in planning and tracking labor productivity

9. The goal is to maximize performance at the site level.

10. Use LEAN tools such as Last Planner - planning boards to plan and track activities.

11. Participate in weekly site meetings.

12. Edit the schedule board to reflect the agreed-upon tasks and times.

13. Review progress every morning on site and record progress on the board.

14. Quality Control: Carry out inspections and fill in the quality control sheets on an ongoing basis.

15. Follow up with quality control issues to ensure they are resolved.

16. Prepare deficiency lists and edit for distribution.

17. Follow up with deficiencies

18. Prepare the building commissioning list and ensure the building is commissioned in a timely manner.

**Experience**:
2 years

**Skills**:
1. Comfortable with computers, good knowledge of Microsoft Office

2. Technical understanding of construction

3. Good communication skills

**Salary**: From $75,000.00 per year
