Butcher/meat Cutter

Looking for a Butcher/Meat Cutter to join our team Farmersville Community Abattoir (FCA) is an abattoir that serves the needs of local livestock farmers in Eastern Ontario.

**Job Summary**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Work with the Lead Butcher to cut and wrap meat (beef, pork, lamb, and goat) according to customer custom orders
- Identify customer orders with labels and move crates of meat in and out of the freezer
- Learn to operate and maintain the equipment on the kill floor and in the cutting room
- Learn about the requirements and regulations for operating a meat plant, in particular, the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2001 and O.Reg. 31/05
- Assist the Plant Manager in testing, monitoring, and recording plant processes, procedures, and equipment in accordance with regulations
- Work cleanly and safely, wearing the appropriate clothing (mesh glove, hair net, coat, and apron)
- Clean all work and public areas, including the barn, slaughter floor, coolers, freezer, cutting room, shipping area
- Assist customers in receiving and loading their meat
- Provide the highest quality customer service
