Home Care Assistance Edmonton is looking for a Health Care Aide to join our team. We currently provide Home Care to community in home and in senior care facilities.

Care providers have an opportunity to work one to one with senior care clients, children with children with disabilities and provide added care and emergency support to senior care facilities for emergency shift coverage.

Healthcare Aide is responsible for the physical care and emotional support of our clients who may no longer be able to take care of themselves due to illness, injury, surgery, or disability.

Proficient in English or French, please advise of other languages that you speak

**Responsibilities**:

- Home assistance - Provide aide to daily living personal services could include toileting, bathing, feeding and grooming. Prepare meals, purchase food and provide personal assistance with general living needs plus light housekeeping. Accompany clients to appointments and assist with medications.
- Companionship - Provide companionship and conversation by stimulating, encouraging and assisting an individual.

**Requirements**:

- Health Care Aide Certification
- Understanding of general senior care, cancer care, and dementia care
- High school diploma preferred.
- Must be able to complete a Criminal Background report.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at a time - mechanical lifting experience is required
- Ability to reach, bend, kneel and stand for (sometimes) a long period of time
