Using an empathetic, compassionate approach, the Chaplain will offer spiritual support to clients in a variety of life
situations (residential and non-residential) within The Bethany Group. Areas of support may include: End of Life care and
bereavement support; opportunities for prayer, reflection and meditation; and one-on-one pastoral care.
**QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- A certificate or degree indicating theological training from an accredited educational institution preferred
- Affiliation and ordination with a recognized religion preferred
- A minimum of one unit of CPE preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of parish experience preferred
- Experience with End-of-Life care preferred
- Experience in ministering to diverse groups preferred
**REQUIREMENTS:
- Leads devotional and worship services in creative and ecumenical ways
- Participates in local ministerial association
- Conducts funeral or memorial services to assist residents and staff with grief and loss and/or in support of families
- Continues to expand knowledge by attending appropriate conferences and workshops
- Uses teaching / coaching skills when facilitating educational opportunities
- Provides one-on-one spiritual counsel, and support to clients and families during End-of-Life care
- Assesses pastoral needs and acts as a resource to colleagues and managers
- Serves as a facilitator for spiritual care by facilitating the involvement of local ministerial churches in the ministerial
service rotations and in other appropriate ways
- Strong listening, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to listen with empathy and to establish and
maintain healthy relationships
