Overview:
A Wood Fabricator at Mary Ratcliffe Studio is a member of the wood studio team at MRS. This role involves working with the Head of Wood Fabrication and other members of the wood studio team to assist in the fabrication and creation of primarily solid wood projects in our wood studio. To the best of your ability, you will be responsible for ensuring that the work you create is built to the highest standards of quality. You will take direction directly from and will report directly to the Head of Wood Fabrication.

This is an entry-level position for a fabricator early in their career. The position pays a starting wage of $20/hr with regular reviews and check-ins and the opportunity to grow within the company.

**Responsibilities**:

- You will be primarily fabricating pieces of furniture from our standard collection
- Reading drawings and taking fabrication direction and instruction from the Head of Wood Fabrication
- Fabricating works in solid wood, and other materials related to the completion of studio projects,

including but not limited to: marble, steel, veneer, and leather.
- Fabricating large and small-scale works
- Lifting materials and pieces at a variety of weights and sizes - we make both large and small scale pieces
- Using tools, consumable materials and workspace provided by MRS for the completion of studio projects
- Asking questions or requesting clarification when you are unsure or confused about a task or provided directive
- Creating and testing different methods of finish through sampling
- Reading and executing the information provided in technical drawings
- Assisting in the packaging, packing and shipping of completed projects
- Assisting with the unloading and storing of studio materials
- Assisting with input on fabrication methods and strategies when requested
- Providing assistance to both the wood studio team and the MRS office team when requested
- Collaborating with team members internally and with subcontractors externally when required
- Consulting on projects when requested
- Reporting to Head of Wood Fabrication or Mary Ratcliffe or Management Representative when necessary
- Relaying important or pertinent information to the necessary parties in a timely manner
- Time management to ensure both satisfactory completion of specific tasks in a timely manner
