**Job Summary**
- Dalhousie University Libraries support and advance learning and research endeavors by providing collections, facilities and services that enable expedient access to the world’s information and knowledge. Reporting to the Academic Technology Services’ Manager of Services, Support and Training, the Instructional Support Technician is responsible for instructor support in the use of Dalhousie’s Learning Management System (LMS).

**Key Responsibilities**
- Serve as a lead support for problem solving issues course designers encounter when using tools in the LMS and other supported products. Recommend tools that best suit pedagogical requirements.
- Regularly test use of the various tools as well as test to prepare for system and product upgrades and ensure all aspects of the product are in good working order.
- Recommend design alternatives and implement based on faculty preferences. This includes recommending software alternatives beyond Instructional Technologies supported products, to properly support faculty.
- Review and respond to questions posted in the ticket system via phone or in person in a timely manner. Prioritize requests according to service standards.

**Note**
- The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Please note: Position 1 hours of work are Monday-Friday 9 am - 5 pm and Position 2 hours of work are Monday - Friday 1 pm - 9 pm. Please indicate if you have a preference when applying.

**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science with a focus on educational technology, along with approximately three years’ experience in educational technology and online education in higher education and teaching (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Experience in Learning Management Systems’ products.
- Must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Windows, Mac, and mobile operating systems as well as different browsers and browser plug-ins.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to contribute to a strong team in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
