**Schedule**: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30PM, flexible as required

**Job Summary**:
The Assistant Manager provides hands-on support to the manager (or director) on day-to-day functions of the distribution warehouses in Canada. The Assistant Manager oversees staff and ensures effective training of supervisors. Operationally, the Assistant Manager establishes safe operations and conducts training on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work procedures (WPs). Administratively, the Assistant Manager supports the Manager with fiscal management, operating budgets & cost analysis, inventory managements, evaluate & develop operation’s best practices, set & pursuit strategic goals within distribution department, finetuning all the opportunities for company sustainability, and continuously eliminate non-value activities or inefficiencies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the manager with daily administrative and operational tasks
- Support the manager in establishing inventory requirements, warehouse facilities, materials, manpower, and services needed to support distributions operations; correlate requirements with company’s plans to ensure commitments are met
- Support the development and fulfilment of key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure that shortfalls are accounted for
- Support Human Resources department with employee recruitment, selection, onboarding, training and development activities
- Within the department, ensure that all staff communicate effectively and collaborate well to maintain a productive team environment
- Play an active role in preparing and discussing employee performance appraisals
- Provide assertive leadership, management guidelines, and facilitate company’s strategy to cultivate a fully engaged workforce
- Ensure the existence, maintenance, and functioning of adequate information technology (IT) systems for internal controls in all functional areas of the department
- Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Strictly adhere and observe all Factors health & safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
- Other duties and projects as assigned

**Requirements**:
Technical
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Operations Management; additional relevant training is an asset
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in in distribution, inventory or warehousing operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- Excellent knowledge of inventory and shipping processes, with ability to target and manage the process efficiency of the logistics in distribution warehouse
- Experience in a fast-paced, large volume, high-intensity environment, with strong focus on measurable metrics, and capability to implementing enhanced key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Experience of implementing continuous improvement processes
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
