**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**

Under the general supervisor of a Carpenter, this position will be responsible for assisting with renovation work. This position requires someone that has versatility in the ability to work on various construction projects interior and exterior and be able to adapt to a wide variety of conditions.

The majority of your work will include: drywall installation and repairs, installing all types of floor coverings, ceilings, panelling, trim and framing. You must be able to use a wide variety of hand and power tools and maintain them in good, safe working order.

**NATURE and SCOPE**

Duties shall include but not be limited to:

- Various carpentry duties including but not limited to: sawing, nailing, panelling, framing, painting, installing.
- Moving heavy equipment in and out of vehicles and into buildings where they are needed.
- Removal of debris, content and cleaning of areas.
- Discuss job requirements with Carpenters prior to starting in order to obtain a complete understanding of what work needs to be performed.
- Conduct an accident/incident investigation in accordance with company policy should a work site injury or loss of equipment or property occurs.
- Notify the company Health and Safety Coordinator of the details related to the accident or incident.
- Maintain and promote good customer relations at all times.
- Assist the Mitigation Department when required with jobs involving water and/or fire damage to buildings, and responsible for the damage tear out, removal of debris, contents and cleaning of areas.

**SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE**

The ability to pass a criminal background check and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for this position.

The ability to read, interpret and carry out written and oral instructions; write legibly; work under pressure; maintain good working relationships with supervisors, peers and the public; organize and prioritize work.

Must be physically able to lift heavy items above and below shoulder height, and perform continuous standing, walking, reaching and bending.
