The Controller shall hold responsibility for managing the overall financial operations of Green Beaver, and will provide accurate information to the leadership team, including analysis, budgeting, forecasting and preparing financial reports. The Controller is responsible for managing all the company's accounting functions, including internal controls and standardized procedures. The controller is responsible for the preparation of financial statements internally and externally.

**Job Duties**
- Manage the accounting functions including payroll, internal controls, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Oversees HR policies and procedures and employee benefits
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- Secures government funding and grants for financing opportunities.
- Manage relationship and other requirements with BDC and other financial institutions.
- Manages liability insurance and relative risk
- Manage cashflow and finance activities to optimize working capital
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for management reporting
- Liaise with operations to manage cost control initiatives including minimizing waste.
- Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making.
- Work with external auditors to effectively execute the NTR statements.
- Manages IRAP programs with respect to funding of projects and reporting.
- Manage foreign exchange transactions.
- Manage government remittances including payroll requirements, sales tax
- Manage research and development program year end SRED reporting.
- Work with sales team on product pricing, costing and margins.
- Provides advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting
- Sets the priorities within accounting group
- Manages government audits
- Supporting new systems or project selections and implementation from a strategic finance and internal control perspective
- Other related duties and required or assigned.

**Requirements**:

- University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
- Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
- Experience overseeing audits performed by external audit firms
- Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience
- Knowledge of budget preparation and analysis techniques
- Management and or supervisory experience
- Strong problem solving skills and self starter.
- Ability to adapt to and learn new software
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
