The Treasurer is responsible for handling all of the financial affairs of the municipality on behalf of and in the
manner directed by Council. This position provides leadership in the development and implementation of the
finance, accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, analysis, investment, debt management, and taxation functions
for the County. Providing vision within the Finance division, this role works towards financial modernization to
achieve the county’s strategic priorities through creativity and innovation.

The position manages cash flow to ensure that sufficient liquid funds are available to operate efficiently and ensures
financial systems comply with all legislation and regulations by developing and implementing financial policies,
procedures, programs, and systems.

The Treasurer provides effective leadership and guidance to division staff, promoting a strong, resilient team, who

delivers customer service excellence to the community and internal staff. This position supports fiscal sustainability

initiatives while effectively leading staff to build a high-performance, engaged team.

**QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**_ _

Education
- University Graduation in a Specialized or Occupational Field relative to the area of responsibility.
- CPA or an applicable current Professional Designation.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years of current related experience.

Knowledge/Skills
- Sound knowledge of municipal government functions and understanding of the relationships that exist

between the various levels of government that provide direction, advice, funding support, and other services
to the municipality.
- Sound knowledge of all applicable regulations and Acts relative to the area of responsibility.
