Mapping Technician

We have a fresh new facility centered in Saskatoon, SK. This Mapping Technician will be located in North-East Saskatchewan area to best facilitate surrounding fields; in the Melfort, Humbolt, Yorkton region. This position will work with the Agronomy team and report to the Mapping Manager. The Mapping Technician will be able to work independently while communicating with multiple teams within Croptimistic. The Mapping Technician will be expected to travel often including overnight stays.

**Responsibilities**
- Collection of geo-referenced electrical conductivity, RTK elevation, and field boundaries
- Assisting with in-season variable-rate field assessments, including plant stand counts
- Providing variable-rate controller support to new clients
- Assisting agronomy staff with in-season insect and disease scouting
- Champion the brand and help grow the business throughout SK
- Able to work independently and think strategically

**Requirements**:

- Class 5 Driver License required with 4-wheel, field driving experience; abstract may be requested
- Experience with basic mechanics
- Strong computer skills, with willingness to learn GIS and farm management software
- High-level of integrity and commitment to providing unrivaled service
- Basic mechanical knowledge considered an asset
- Must be willing to work overtime in peak seasons including Saturdays
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

- Relevant education or experience in the agriculture sector considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of Western Canadian agriculture and farming practices considered an asset
