The **Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario** is committed to improving services and support for individuals living with mental illnesses and addictions issues, and to the promotion of mental health in Ontario.

**Your Health Space** (YHS) supports health care organizations across Ontario to improve mental health in their workplaces through live workshops and self-directed e-learning modules. YHS embraces the holistic view that psychological health and safety in the workplace takes the collective effort of employees across an entire health care organization. Therefore, the program is offered to Leaders, Health Care Workers, and Support Staff working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home and community care settings. Through this program, health care workers can learn to recognize and manage symptoms of chronic workplace stress and connect with colleagues through facilitated discussions.

**Job Summary**

This position is a special funded full-time, temporary contract starting immediately until June 30, 2024. This position will report to the Your Health Space Senior Manager, Operations and provide project coordination in supporting the co-creation of culturally sensitive workplace mental health curriculum for Indigenous healthcare workers. This includes responsibility for any existing and future learning & development initiatives, including curriculum revisions and customization of Your Health Space programming. The Indigenous Project Coordinator & Trainer will also facilitate Your Health Space training to healthcare partners in communities across Ontario.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Design, conduct, and analyze a needs assessment for Indigenous workplace mental health in Ontario.
- Conducts outreach to Indigenous community partners and stakeholders across the province.
- Works collaboratively with Indigenous healthcare partners (First Nations, Metis, and Inuit) and other health service providers to identify strategies that support the mental health and well-being of Indigenous healthcare workers.
- Draws on existing bodies of Indigenous Ways of Knowing, and works with key stakeholders to develop tailored, practical tools and evidence-informed workplace mental health curriculum for Indigenous healthcare workers.
- Applies a quality improvement approach and maintains oversight and responsibility for the YHS Indigenous program curriculum, modules, workshop materials, training materials, and other pieces of the curriculum (e.g., videos, workshop catalogue, etc.)
- Provides Your Health Space training to Health Care Serving organizations within the Your Health Space Program.
- In partnership with the Senior Manager, periodically coordinates training and development opportunities for YHS team members on Indigenous workplace mental health best practices, as well as curriculum updates.
- Liaises with CMHA Ontario internal resource positions (e.g., YHS Evaluation and Data Coordinator, QI Coaches, E-Learning Coordinator, Communications team) to enhance the overall program quality and reach.
- Participates in various subcommittees within the Your Health Space team.
- Attends regular meetings of the Your Health Space and CMHA Ontario teams.
- Prepare reports, documents, and publications for internal and external audiences.

**Skills & Experience**
- Minimum of 3-years experience in curriculum development, including slide decks, workshop materials, training materials, and other curriculum-related deliverables.
- University degree in Indigenous studies, psychology, sociology, social work, health-related research, or a related field required.
- Ability to deliver training effectively in English required, and in French a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering curricula related to mental health and addiction rooted in Indigenous pedagogy.
- Experience within the mental health or healthcare field is required.
- Experience in program leadership and project management is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with key concepts of mental health promotion, health equity, and social determinants of health an asset.
- Minimum 3 experience developing and delivering Indigenous cultural programming and engaging in Indigenous communities within a mental health or holistic wellness capacity.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the diversity of cultural traditions and spiritual practices of First Nation, Inuit, and Metis peoples.
- Superior organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Strong communication skills with Indigenous community partners and leaders.
