Toronto, Canada TMU (Ryerson University) Full time

**1) Prepares and maintains an adequate supply of food and beverages**

i. Receives customer food orders and serves food to customers.

ii. Prepares and maintains adequate levels of hot and cold beverages,
sandwiches, salads, and snacks in order to meet the demands.

iii. Sets up and restocks food items for self-service food service area. Informs
Lead Hand or Coordinator or Manager of any products in need of
replenishment.

iv. Ensures that shelves, refrigerators, raw materials and paper supplies are
adequately stocked.

v. Assembles, delivers and picks up catering function requests, prepares last
- minute orders and forwards all pertinent information to the Manager. Assists
in catering functions, as required.

**2) Processes and delivers orders requested by customers**

i. Receives orders from customers and assists in the production and servicing
of hot and cold food. Produces menu items as ordered.

ii. Engages with customers to provide information regarding the production and
sourcing of menu items. Rings in orders through Point of Sale System.
Counts float and reconciles till at the end of the day, with cash totaling up to
$2,500.

iii. Assembles, delivers and picks up special function requests as outlined on
special function forms.

iv. Undertakes service duties for special functions.

**3. Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment**

i. Washes small wares and returns them to correct storage location.

ii. Cleans and maintains the counter tops, food production and beverage
equipment, serving areas and condiment stands.

iii. Ensures the safety of others when returning unserved food items to their
appropriate location.

iv. Maintains a neat, clean working area; sweeps floors and empties waste
receptacles.

**4. Supports the university’s mandate**

i. Demonstrates some understanding of the issues around local sourcing and
sustainability.

ii. Willing to learn about and maintain TMU’s commitment to promote fresh,
wholesome, sustainably sourced food for the campus community.

iii. Demonstrates a commitment to supporting TMU’s principles of equity,
diversity, and inclusion, an ability to work with diverse populations, has some
knowledge or willingness to learn about how these principles should inform
and shape TMU's diverse student and employee population.

iv. Offers a high standard of service that prioritizes hospitality.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $16.55-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 24 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON M5B 1S1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
