Front of House Staff

Join our team at a new breakfast restaurant in Walkerton, Ontario.We are seeking front of house staff, with 2 full time and 2 part time positions available.

As a server at JAM, you will be responsible for providing high-levels of customer service to all restaurant guests through prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials. Servers will perform customer service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times, and ensure that the customers have an enjoyable dining experience. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the proper setting of tables, removing used dishes and place settings, assisting with cleaning duties, and complying with all restaurant policies and procedures.

**Duties & Responsibilities**Your role involves:

- Greeting guests in a timely and friendly manner
- Taking food and beverage orders and entering them into the POS system accurately
- Maintaining familiarity with the composition of all menu items and specials
- Answering customer inquiries
- Serving food and beverages in a professional, courteous manner
- Clearing and cleaning tables, presenting bills and taking accurate payment from guests
- Keeping condiments and beverages clean and stocked throughout service
- Cleaning designated areas, including opening and closing routines and following hygiene requirements
- Setting tables, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged and in good repair
- Ensure storerooms are adequately stocked

**Requirements**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers and kitchen
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods
- An understanding of POS systems is an asset
- 1-2 years restaurant service experience is an asset
- Able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Professional appearance and manners
- Excellent personal hygiene
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

Wage will depend on experience and will be discussed during the interview process

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $16.55-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
