Salary Range: $45,400- $53,360

We are currently seeking a Collections Coordinator for any of our offices located in Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, North Bay, Hamilton, Timmins, Peterborough, Dryden, Toronto or Ottawa.

**Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following**:

- Complete income reviews annually and as needed into Business management systems;
- Ensures 1st of the month deposits are entered into BMS for all homeowner and rental tenants;
- Responsible for the entire Collections process for designated areas and for covering other areas as assigned;
- Works as a part of numerous teams to meet or exceed the established goals for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Collections process;
- Counsel tenants in arrears, collection rental arrears, implement plans to reduce and eliminate arrears;
- Complete Tribunal documents for rent collection and eviction;
- Maintain electronic and manual filing systems and program database systems for program delivery in accordance with specified procedures;
- Complete daily/monthly bank deposits in Business management system;
- Forward tenant refund request to Accounts Payable;
- Complete Property Managers adjustment/refund requests in Business Management System for all territories;
- Update bad debt registry;
- Forward bad debt documents to Collection Agency;
- Issue L1 Landlord and tenant board Forms;
- Forward Landlord and tenant board orders to satellite Property Managers for sheriff eviction;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of and an appreciation for Indigenous culture and demonstrated values that focus on assisting people;
- College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Office Administration or related field;
- Chartered Institute of Housing, Certified designation preferred or the Chartered designation would be considered an assets, or a commitment to work towards;
- 1-2 years collections or office administrative experience;
- A combination of education and experience will be considered;
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment, with a focus on quality and accuracy;
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use sound judgment;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a highly motivated, professional and results-oriented team;
- Excellent customer service skills and superior telephone manners;
- Prepare and submit regular reports on rent collection performance, highlighting trends, challenges, and potential improvements;
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information;
- Communicate with tenants regarding rent-related matters, providing clear and concise information on payment procedures, due dates, and any other fees;
- Respond to tenant inquiries and concerns related to rent payments professionally and in a timely manner;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both written and orally using multiple channels with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills and ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships;
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
