**About the Opportunity**:
**Responsibilities**:
- work as a full scope of practice orthopedic surgeon providing care to the patients within Northern Zone participate in call shifts
- support Nova Scotia Health in advancing the delivery of orthopedic surgery care by liaising with the applicable staff within the zone and province
- offer consultation support to Northern Zone, which includes day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage
- be accountable to the patient population in Northern Zone by providing clinics
- responsible to the Zone Surgery Department Head (or delegate) and ZMED for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice
- operate within the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health
**Expected Hours**:
- full-time, permanent
- on-call
**Qualifications**:
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
