Victoria, Canada Terra Archaeology Full time

**STAFF ARCHAEOLOGIST**

British Columbia: Multiple locations

Rate: $26-$32/hour

**_ About us_**

Terra Archaeology Limited (Terra) is a leading provider of professional archaeological consulting services throughout British Columbia. Our work is conducted at the request of First Nations, federal and provincial government agencies and ministries, private sector corporations, and private landowners. We have a proven track record of excellence and innovation in our field and are committed to delivering high-quality services.

**This is a field position **based out of our offices in Victoria, Richmond, Kamloops, or Williams Lake that** requires regular travel to locations across British Columbia.** Travel arrangements are made by Terra’s support team, and costs of travel and living-out are paid. Terra’s fieldwork takes place throughout the province, with focus on the Southern Interior and Lower Mainland. Field shifts vary in length from a few days to three weeks, with time off between shifts varying in relation to shift length.

There may be opportunities to participate in report and analysis tasks on an as-and-when needed basis in addition to fieldwork. Volume of office/lab work is tied to project requirements, scheduling, individual aptitude, and previous experience.

Terra supports the continued professional growth and development of staff, therefore the opportunity for greater participation in reporting and analysis will come with time and demonstrated ability. Our goal is for our new archaeologists to become Field Supervisors within a few seasons, work towards their Field Director designation, and progress to being eligible to hold HCA permits and, in time, fill the roles of Project Managers and senior staff. This starts with foundational field experience.
