**Job Title: Quality Assurance Coordinator**

**Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager**

**Department: Quality Assurance**

**Basic Purpose**:
Support the QA function within the local laboratory. Under supervision received from the QA Manager, assist in the implementation of the QA program to ensure that Bureau Veritas provides its customers accurate and defendable data. Work towards ensuring the laboratories are in compliance with all relevant accreditation programs.

**Key Accountability/Responsibilities**:

- Monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices to ensure continual and effective implementation
- Educate and train staff in the requirements of Bureau Veritas Quality Management System
- Monitor the effective implementation of Bureau Veritas** **Quality Assurance Program
- Ensure the Quality System Tools are available and used
- Encourage, identify and participate in continual improvement
- Assist Internal Customers in addressing questions, concerns and stuck points with regards to quality practices
- Liaise and coordinate External QA requirements and process including: Accreditation requirements (including PTs) and Client Audits
- Adhere to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy
- Support and comply with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program
- Participate in internal and, when requested, external audits
- Participate, when requested, in lab and Health & Safety meetings
- Maintain training records and relevant qualifications
- Keep work area clean, neat and organized

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Science Technical Diploma or B.Sc. or equivalent
- 2-4 years laboratory experience, Internal Auditor training an asset
- Strong science background and experience in laboratory practices
- Competent in reviewing analytical procedures and practices
- Skilled in writing reports and work instructions
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good time-management, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

**Working Conditions**:

- High level of work production in fast paced lab environment
- May require flexible workings hours, overtime and shift work
- May involve long periods of standing
- Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate PPE
