**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:_
- Strategically manage department in compliance with Canadian North’s policies & vision;
- Develop, implement, lead & maintain continuous improvement initiatives;
- Identify opportunities to generate increased productivity & reduce waste/redundancies;
- Monitor and reports on fleet engine status;
- Monitor and implement changes to Engine Management Program;
- Review each engine/APU workscope requirement prior to issue repair orders to vendor;
- Evaluate engine repair and overhaul to ensure budget targets are maintained;
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of Technical Specialists and support personnel;
- Responsible for all the modifications, ADs, Alert SBs, and standards related to engines via shop visits and on‐wing;
- Liaise with overhaul vendors during each engine/APU shop event;
- Coordinates and follows‐up on any major projects or special requirements pertaining to engine/APU fleet;
- Negotiate and manages contracts related to engine/APU repairs, purchases, and leases;
- Comply with the Safety Management System (SMS) reporting program and adhere to the Corporate Safety Policy;
- Report non-conformities to senior management team;
- Conduct investigations when discrepancies are detected;
- Report positive milestones to senior management team; and
- Other duties as assigned.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:_
- Two (2) years Post Secondary Education;
- Four (4) years previous relevant experience;
- Must be an AME;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on jet and turbo-prop engine overhauls and trouble-shooting;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience on APU overhaul;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on engine Borescope;
- Minimum 5 years’ management experience which include communication with engine manufactures;
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills;
- Proven ability to multi-task;
- Previous supervisory experience;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
- Possesses a solid understanding of the business and customer environment;
- MS Office computer proficiency, preferably with experience using TRAX;
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset; and
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
