The Psychology Services Program serves both in patients In Medicine Hat Regional Hospital and clients in the community with complex addiction and mental health issues that are referred for psychological testing. The psychology assistant plays a vital role in the Psychology Services Program by providing testing and assessment services for patients/clients referred from in patient units and some community referrals. This position works as part of a collaborative team including a psychologist, physicians, psychiatrists, clinical supervisor, nurses and other health care professionals to provide psychological testing in a timely manner and according to AHS standards. This position reports to the manager of Addiction and Mental Health Outreach Services. Please attach a resume and cover letter to be considered for this position.
**Description**:
As a Psychology Assistant, you will play a vital role in the Psychology Services Program by providing psychological test administration for patients referred from Inpatient Psychiatry and other hospital units. You will support the Psychologist(s) in the program while ensuring testing is provided in a timely manner and according to AHS and psychology standards. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will work under the direction of psychologists to administer psychological tests and assessments, document behavioural and other relevant observations, and score tests for psychologist interpretation. Other activities, such as maintaining test materials, scheduling psychological testing, and uploading scores and reports are also part of this role. You will work closely with the program's Psychologist(s), and with Psychiatrists, Physicians, Nurses, and other members of the health care team. As a Psychology Assistant, you will be supervised by the Clinical Supervisor and will report to the Manager of Addiction & Mental Health Outreach Services.

**Required Qualifications**:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology. Course work in psychopathology, psychological testing and counseling. Practicum and/or work experience in psychological testing.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Completed BA or BSC in psychology. 2-3 years' experience working with individuals experiencing complex addition, mental illness, and/or concurrent disorders. Completed training courses in testing, assessment, and psychometrics. 2 years psychological testing and assessment experience. Strong skills in verbal and written communication and proficient with technology and different computer programs. Competence in interview skills and experience working as part of a collaborative team.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Some knowledge and experience working with individuals with sensory deficits. Ability to prioritize and work within short timelines. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training required.
