**LABORATORY QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN**

Doughty Aggregates (Peterborough) Limited, Lakefield, Ontario
- **Job Type**:_ Seasonal position with possibility of permanent, full-time role.
- **Doughty Aggregates **_ is a local producer and supplier of aggregate materials with operations throughout the Peterborough-Kawartha Lakes area. We also undertake aggregate processing for other aggregate producers and municipalities.

As a Quality Control Technician, you will conduct quality control testing services for
Doughty Aggregates operations and for our external customers.

- **Main Duties**_
- Testing of aggregate (low complexity) gradation analysis, percent crushed particles, flat and elongated particles, asphalt coated particles, and moisture content testing as per LS and ASTM test methods.
- Aggregate sampling in the field at the various pit locations.
- Enter and process data both manually and on computer software supplied.
- Maintain laboratory testing equipment and perform routine equipment calibrations.
- Maintain and follow Doughty Aggregates CCIL Laboratory Quality Manual.
- Daily general housekeeping and maintenance tasks are also required.
- Depending on prior experience and knowledge, you may provide or be trained to assist in carrying out higher complexity soil and aggregate testing.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of project proposals.
- Prepare project invoices for submission to outside clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
- **Skills & Experience Requirements**_
- Completion of a Geotechnical Technician Certification program (or similar certification) is preferred.
- Prior laboratory testing experience and current CCIL Certification (Type C) and asset, but not mandatory.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize workloads.
- Fundamental knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of aggregate processing practices, and equipment and aggregate specifications would be an asset.
- Ability to maintain a clean working environment.
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs on a daily basis.
