Through adaptive sport and recreation programming, outreach and education, Variety promotes inclusion and healthy living through adapted physical activity. Variety Village is seeking several qualified Lifeguards to join our team of talented staff._

**Summary**:
Area Coverage Attendants are responsible for ensuring the safety of our members while exercising in the following rooms: cardio area, general fieldhouse (track, basketball courts, etc.,), and the weight room. They are also responsible for checking equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and answering/interacting with members or clients.
The Attendant role is also responsible for monitoring members to ensure Variety policies and protocols are being followed.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Overseeing the safety of members using the cardio area, fieldhouse or weight room;
- Ensuring the appropriate use of equipment to minimize potential injury;
- Ensure accessibility by assisting members with special needs with equipment use;
- Participating in training, including but not limited to Health & Safety, Covid-19, the Plan to Protect and AODA;
- Attending In-Service training sessions throughout the year;
- Adhering to Variety Village policies and procedures;
- Completing and submitting incident reports on an as needed basis;
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Key Competencies**:

- Minimum age of 15 years old;
- A valid certification in Standard First Aid - CPR C, AED and Airway management is an asset;
- Experience and/or education in recreation, sports, physical education or education an asset;
- Strong problem solving and communication skills;
- Ability to complete tasks as delegated, complete administrative duties, and strong organization skills.
- Available to work a flexible schedule;
- Effective working with mínimal supervision.
