Mental health clinicians hired to the Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) float team in the eastern Fraser Valley provide backfill counselling services for community CYMH and Indigenous CYMH teams in the eastern Fraser Valley. The float team headquarters is in Chilliwack and supports CYMH work across the region.
Our CYMH teams are comprised of master’s-level clinicians, outreach support workers, and supportive team leaders. Together, we bring energy, expertise, and a commitment to knowledge-sharing, working alongside families and community partners to deliver wrap-around, integrated support for children, youth, and their families. **The Role**
As a CYMH Clinician on our team, you’ll provide direct clinical services including intake services, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention. You will work closely with team members, community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs to provide comprehensive care, including individual, group and family therapy. You will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and passionate team to make a meaningful positive difference in the lives of children, youth, and their families facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
**Qualifications**:
Education and Experience Requirements
- **NOTE**: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
**Preference may be given to applicants with the following**:
- Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Successful practicum completion with MCFD Child and Youth Mental Health.
- Recent (within the past 5 years) experience or training in providing community-based mental health services for clients with eating disorders and/or Early Psychosis Intervention.
- Training in specialty modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT - minimum 30-hour foundational training), evidence-based trauma therapies (e.g. EMDR), and/or evidence-based training in early psychosis intervention.
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

**About this Position**:
This is a float position, and the successful applicant may be assigned to any office within the East Fraser Float Service Delivery Area based on operational requirements. The headquarters/base office for this position is Chilliwack. Locations include Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Agassiz, Hope and Mission.
