THE OPPORTUNITY

Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (Triton) is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join our Calgary or Edmonton office location to fill a contract position of Boat Operator.

Triton is growing and looking for a boat operator to join our growing team. Triton will provide you with a challenging and supportive working environment and a management team dedicated to promoting your personal and professional growth.

THE ROLE

Operation of workboats and safety boats in a safe and capable manner
Conduct basic maintenance and safety inspections of work boats and other project equipment
Monitoring of bird activities and manual hazing of non-impacted birds, as well as reporting of other incidental wildlife observations (e.g. coyotes, wolves, bears and ungulates)
Assist with the deployment, inspection, and maintenance of bird deterrent systems

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Experienced in the operation of boats
Solid understanding of small engines and ability to perform basic mechanical diagnostics and maintenance
Demonstrated experience implementing safe operating procedures, including crew safety briefings and instructions to passengers and crew members
Experience with basic emergency response, lifesaving, rescue, and survival skills
Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
Positive attitude, excellent inter-personal skills, and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Airboat operations and/or certification is an asset
Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting
