Brightside is a soon-to-be-open all-day cafe on West Broadway in Kitsilano.

Our team has over two decades of experience owning and operating cafes and roasting really, really good coffee. And while our foundation will always be quality ingredients - in our coffee, in our baking, and in our food - our real obsession is delivering remarkably excellent service.

We named our company Brightside because we believe in taking an optimistic approach to our industry and what we do. We want to build a team and create an environment that is welcoming, friendly, and a bright spot in people's every day. We're looking for talented baristas and service professionals for our front-of-house program who share our passion, ambition, and care for what they do and the people they do it with.

Just a few things we would be looking for you to do: - A passion for hospitality, coffee, and tea. - Experience as a barista or in other aspects of the coffee industry. - A calm and kind demeanour, with an ability to be energetic and engaging with customers. - Comfortable handling transactions, using a till system, and taking orders and payments. - Knowledge of espresso-based machinery; grinders, espresso machines, brewing equipment. - Foodsafe Level 1 and Serving it Right is considered an asset. - Set a positive tone and strong work ethic, leading by example. - Keep up a fast-paced workflow and always help out your teammates. - Execute our drink menu with efficiency and accuracy. - Work well with others or alone, ability to stay motivated in a changing environment. - Help to keep track of all coffee inventory and stock. - A want to learn more about the industry and try new things. - Promote and uphold health and safety regulations.

Some very basic qualifications we might expect: - Minimum 1 year experience as a barista. - Ability to navigate challenging customer interactions when they arise. - Capable of multitasking. - An aptitude for organization and cleanliness. - A desire to continue your education in the coffee industry.

**Salary**: $16.00-$21.00 per hour
