**JOB TITLE: ESL Teacher**

**JOB OVERVIEW**

The Centre Linguistique specializes in short immersion programs for international students. We will be welcoming a group of students in January for a two week immersion program and we are looking for a ESL teacher to provide dynamic and creative lessons.

Our January program will run from January 6th to 21st, 2025.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Teach ESL to a group of around 15 students varying in age from 15-17 years
- Plan lessons with a focus on task based learning.
- Provide daily lesson plans based on curriculum levels and guidelines in the Teacher’s Manual
- Keep records of student attendance and grades
- Submit other administrative forms as required
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and special events (closing ceremony)
- Assist students in their overall adjustment to the program by directing them to appropriate staff members when necessary and by notifying administrative staff of any issues needing attention
- Deliver a high quality ESL program to students

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, patient, and creative
- TESL Canada Certification (or equivalency) Note: A Bachelor of Education is considered an asset
- Experience in teaching English as a Second Language
- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of current methods and approaches in second language instruction
- Experience with teenagers
- Interested in other cultures

**Salary**: $25-$31 per hour

**Job Duration**: 2 weeks, January 6th to 21st, 2025

**Schedule**: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 1 PM

**Location**: Algonquin College, 1385 Woodroffe Ave, Ottawa, ON K2G 1V8
