**Purpose of the position**:
This role is not only to provide the leadership and management of all financial functions of the Helm Operations and be a part of the leadership team but is also to be the trusted business advisor for Helm Operations and the leadership team and CEO. The holder of this position will be a key influencer and directly accountable for the financial functions of Helm Operations; providing oversight and financial advisory services. This includes leading the finance team in order to provide the financial, accounting and administrative services for Helm Operations, ensuring that the business is well managed from a financial perspective, profitability is enhanced and overall the company is successfully developed. The VBU Leaders and leadership team will be reliant on the Finance Manager to identify anomalies, trends, and potential risks through a thorough understanding of financial metrics.
This role is responsible for the provision of accurate and timely reporting and analysis, budget preparation and cash flow reporting to the VBU Leaders. This includes, but is not limited to, Helm reporting and the maintenance of data in systems, Group and Portfolio.
In conjunction with the VBU Leaders and senior leadership team, provision of the strategic financial plan and financial leadership is also a key part of this role. Ensuring excellent business processes are in place across the company functions is a further key responsibility.

- CA qualifications and are a member of Chartered Accountants in Canada
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ of Financial Management experience
- Sound understanding of the compliance, accounting, employment and tax requirements of conducting business in a global setting
- Proven track record of acting as the trusted advisor / business partner for the business and business leaders
- Ability to work effectively in an agile environment
**- **Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Advanced Excel skills including PIVOT tables and VLOOKUP formulae
- Proficiency in working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Experience with computerized financial systems in a mid-to large sized organization
- 3+ years working knowledge of Great Plains
- Experience working with Xero considered an asset
- Experience working in SaaS Optics and Salesforce would be a bonus
